Christina Aguilera Announces Major New Project That ‘Burlesque’ Fans Are Calling a ‘Dream’ Come True

The ‘Genie in a Bottle’ singer is teasing something ‘BIG.’

Christina Aguilera has some exciting news to share with Burlesque fans.

On Wednesday, March 26, the “Lady Marmalade” songstress announced that Burlesque the Musical is heading to London’s West End—with an executive producer who is none other than Aguilera herself.

The powerhouse vocalist, who starred in the 2010 film alongside Cher, delighted fans with an Instagram post on Wednesday to share, “I am SO excited to announce my role as Executive Producer for Burlesque! A BIG New Musical coming to The West End, tickets are on sale now! XOXO – Christina 💋”

She also shared a video of herself dancing around to “Express,” one of the songs from the original movie soundtrack.

But the musical adaptation of Burlesque features even more hits, with music not only from Aguilera, but also from artists like SiaDiane WarrenTodrick Hall and Jess Folley.

The show—written and produced by the director of the film, Steven Antin already premiered at the Manchester Opera House in June 2024. This summer, it will begin its limited run at London’s Savoy Theatre between July 01 and September 6.

“I’m proud that Burlesque the Musical is coming to London’s West End!” Aguilera, 44, said in a statement obtained by Playbill.com. “Our journey of making this film to bringing this show to the stage has been so special and exciting. Following our successful previews, having the show land in the West End later this year is a dream come true!”

Aguilera’s fans on Instagram seemed to agree that the exciting news was like a “dream,” with one excited user writing in the comments, “This is everything!!! 😍”

“Omg! I hope this comes to the U.S!! I wanna see this so bad!!” someone else gushed, while another fan rejoiced, “Finally! 😍😍😍😍😍.”
