1980

• Spanish teacher Shelly Loraine Fidler (who will later become Shelly Kearns) gives birth to a Christina Maria Aguilera in New York on December 18.

1986

• Members of the Monster Munch fanclub find out the very in vogue Red Monster of Flamin’ Hot fame’s favourite snack is ‘curry jelly’.

1989

• Made first televison appearance on TV’s Star Search

1990

• It is found that Christina can sing quite well so she is taken to Star Search to belt out Etta James’s ‘A Sunday Kind Of Love’. A lot of people like it. A lot don’t and taunt Christina so she, her newly divorced Mum and sister Rachel move. It is traumatic and will be remembered for inspiration in later years.

1991

• At 10 she sang the national anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates

1993

• Spent a year on The New Mickey Mouse Club, which was a bit like Mini Pops, which was a bit like Stars In Their Eyes Kids – only there wasn’t a prize at the end, and now everyone thinks it was a bit dirty and wrong to make children dress like grownups and sing sexually suggestive songs. None of these things happened at the Mickey Mouse Club. But they did all have to wear ears.

1995

• Toured Japan promoting her collaboration with Japanese singer, Keizo Nakanishi on “All I Wanna Do”

1998

• Got a record contract with RCA after singing ‘Reflection’ for the Disney film ‘Mulan’. ‘Mulan’ is the one about a girl in the olden days who pretends she has a winky so she can join the army. Girls should remember that they don’t need to do this nowadays, that it was only a film and you shouldn’t believe everything Disney says.

1999

• Hit the Top 40 for the first time with “Genie In A Bottle.”

• Genie In A Bottle” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 weeks and the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart for 4 weeks.

• “Genie In A Bottle” was certified platinum.

• “Christina Aguilera” was released. Christina’s album sold over 250,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #1 on the album charts (besting the new album by Puff Daddy).

• “Genie In A Bottle” topped the Billboard Top 40 Tracks chart for 5 weeks.

• “Christina Aguilera” was certified double platinum (and topped the Billboard 200 Albums chart for a week).

• Appeared on Saturday Night Live, VH1’s Men Strike Back, and hit the Top 40 with “I Turn To You.”

• Bested fellow teen sensation, Britney Spears, by taking home the Best New Artist Award at the Grammy Awards (and saying on stage: “Oh my God, you guys. I seriously do not have a speech prepared whatsoever. I’m shaking right now.” She was also nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (“Genie In A Bottle”). Backstage, Christina said “I wasn’t expecting it at all, just like I wasn’t expecting the nomination.” Christina said at the Grammys: “I really want to try to take pop a little deeper than it is right now. I want to show people other areas of myself that they may not be familiar with. I really want to be seen as a vocalist.”

• Noticing how wearing leather bolstered The Fonz’s appeal in ‘Happy Days’, Christina starts wearing leather chaps for the video of ‘Dirrty’ from fourth album ‘Stripped’. Heeeeey.

• Xtina remembers she has a loyal fanbase of impressionable young people with low self•esteem and so brings out her number one single ‘Beautiful’. Mel C fans will also buy this.

• Appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone wearing nothing but a guitar and black boots

• Became the new face of the Versace line; Donatella claims that the new line was inspired by Christina’s over•the•top stage performances

• Began touring with Justin Timberlake; the two also appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone together

• It was announced that Christina will tour with Justin Timberlake in the summer.

• Christina hosted Saturday Night Live. She was praised for her impersonation of Kim Cattrall’s Sex and the City character Samantha.

• Christina was forced to cancel her upcoming U.S. summer tour and rest her voice for six weeks due to vocal strain.

• The video for “The Voice Within” was nominated for 3 MTV Video Music Awards including Best Female Video, Viewer’s Choice, and Best Cinematography. Christina performed “Tilt Ya Head Back” with Nelly at the ceremony held in Miami.

• It was announced that Christina was engaged.

2006

• The leather chaps go into storage.

• Released third studio album Back to Basics, which included elements of soul, jazz and blues music; earned 2 Grammy nominations, including Best Pop Vocal Album

2007

• Blabbermouth Paris Hilton says that Christina is pregnant. The world believes this.

• Earned two Grammy nominations, including one for her collaborations with Tony Bennett for the song “Steppin’ Out”

2008

• Paris Hilton was correct!

• Christina was pregnant and gives birth to Max Liron Bratman on January 12. Hooray!
