Ladytron have claimed that Christina Aguilera’s latest album was “f**ked up” by her record label.
The Liverpool-based electronic group, who worked on the singer’s last album Bionic, said the original version of the LP was different to the final cut, and believe the label wanted to market her against Lady GaGa.
Daniel Hunt told After LD: “The way she played the album to me was her original vision. She was on the right track but the record label f**ked up everything to be honest.
“All the good stuff got pumped into disc two. I think that if she would have done what she had in mind it would have been better. I also think that with what she had in mind she could have [sidestepped] all the kind of potential comparison with Lady GaGa which, you know, at the time it was that nightmare for her.
He added: “She would have done it in the smart way and she would have been renowned now, but her record label instead wanted to put her against [GaGa].”
Producer Tricky Stewart, who worked on a number of the album’s tracks, recently put its commercial failure down to poor promotion.

i have every REASONS to believe what LADYTRON & TRICKY STEWART had mentioned! BIONIC is by far the best offering of 2010! it has lots of potential hits but the management & record company screwed things up! they did not promote this album globally. screwed AzOff as well as RCA!
Yes, Bionic is a great album and it’s a shame that it wasn’t promoted well. There are many songs in the album that are great. One of my favorites is Prima Donna and I Am. I hope they re-release the album and put more singles out. You Lost Me is also a beautiful song and I’ve never heard it on the radio!! I also can’t help but wonder if releasing the album the same year as the movie helped. By the time the album is released she’s off promoting the movie. =/
yeah..i konw!! I went crazy when i first heard Prima Donna AND Desnudate!!! I mean, when gaga’s first album came out…i liked the music…i was dancing, but man, when I heard bionic i went absolutely INSANE!!! That album got hated on for many jealous/ unfair reasons. It’s obvious people were threatened cuase the real queen was back and they just had to hate! How predictable. Xtina’s label BETTER do well on her 5th album orthey don’t deserve her anymore!! Xtina will leave them cuase she deons’t like being used…that’s why she broke away from her first record label and went into Stripped!! I hope this label doens’t betray her like the first label did…cause xtina DON’T play games! She’s a serious artist and takes her career 100% seriously. Bionic is the BEST album ive herd in a while…xtina deserved that “female pop vocal” grammy this year..but she’ll get it next time, or something else rather. I mean..i know many xtina fans had trouble excepting the fact that a real SINGER was doing electro, but u know what. I LOVE it and Idon’t look at music the way many peopel do. So who freaking CARES if xtina does electro…she’s done pop way before caca anyway! I hated those comparions…people were just hating on xtina to make THEIR favs look good!! I actually give PROPS to xtina for singing elctro as a singer….what other singers do that?? U can tell xtina is BRAVE in her work and realaly loves to take heavy risks. People don’t have to like bionic (even though it STILL has ballads which xtina never abandons) but they can AT LEAST respect xtina’s hard work!!! Im looking forward to xtina’s comeback on perez, the haters, etc.. w/her 5th album..but bionic deserves another chance and it be cool if it came back!!
I have to say that she needs ron fair back on her side and her first manager. I don’t remember his name but her first manager made her a star he knew what to do and how to strike. This old dude man does not know anything. It also sucks that she just gave up so soon.
Christina has been on the same label since day one–RCA. She changed managers since then, but she is still on the same label. But I do hope that Christina uses this next album as the litmus test for whether to stay with RCA, who have been mishandling her for a while now. They didn’t really push Back to Basics as well as they could have and they totally dropped the ball on Bionic (and yes, the deluxe edition additions were much stronger in vision than many of the regular edition offerings). I would have pushed something like Birds of Prey or Bobblehead or Bionic once it became obvious that NMT wasn’t going to do well. Woohoo would have been fine too, except she would have had a hard time getting around US censors on television. RCA just let this record peter out.

well..yeah…there was nothing wrong with NMT as a SONG…but her producers took over the vid and made it in a way where comparisons would draw….they should have let XTINA take control!! Stupid Perez boycotted the song..how dare they blame xtina..perez was just threatened by her return. I for one LOVE NMT, but glam shoudl have stayed the first single just to avoid all that chaos and unfair critisism. To be honest NO ONE should give a crap about comparions….just LEAVE the crap alone!!!
