It’s been an interesting few years for Christina Aguilera: the singer split from husband Jordan Bratman, was arrested for public intoxication and scored a sweet gig as a judge on the massively successful singing competition show, The Voice. Now, with the release of her latest album, Lotus, she’s celebrating overcoming all of life’s obstacles and challenges. “Lotus is about the unbreakable flower,” the songstress explains. “Something that throughout the test of time and throughout the harshest of weather conditions, the roughest of times, the highs and lows, continues to thrive and stay strong and survive.”
Christina is definitely a survivor and she’s feeling stronger now than ever. “For me, it’s coming full circle,” she says. “I’ve been in this business for a long time, over a decade… and it’s all about how you overcome those moments and how you continue to thrive and survive in this crazy business.”
One of the aspects of the “crazy business” is having your appearance scrutinized, something which she’s been subjected to even more in recent years. But curvy Christina doesn’t let it get to her. “I’ve always been open and comfortable with my own body,” she says, which is evident if you’ve seen her brand new video for her current single, Your Body. “I’ve been on all sides of the scale. As far as people having opinions and perspectives… that’s just what it is. But the women that I’m most attracted to… it’s all in how they own it, how they own their bodies, that’s what makes them sexy.”
