Confirming previous rumors, Christina Aguilera has officially been announced as singer of the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLV.
The “Burlesque” beauty will be belting out the Star Spangled Banner before kickoff between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers at Cowboys Stadium.
With the decision being made public by FOX and the NFL on Monday (January 24), Aguilera said in a statement, “I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true.”
She added, I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event.”
Meanwhile, the Black Eyed Peas were previously announced as being chosen for halftime performance duties.
