Christina Aguilera cancels her induction performance for Donna Summer on short notice, due to an illness. 

Powerhouse vocalist Christina Aguilera was set to induct Donna Summer into the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday night, but cancelled at the last minute. Aguilera, was supposed to join Jennifer Hudson in performing “Bad Girls” and “Last Dance” in honor of Summer’s legendary musical career. X-Tina, however, cancelled due to a high fever and upper respiratory infection.

Thankfully, R&B singer Kelly Rowland took her place and sung a few lyrics to “Love To Love You Baby”. She graciously acknowledged the disco queen saying,”Her words remind us of exactly who we are…I’m pretty sure me and a lot of y’all in here were made to that record.”

How great of her to step in last minute! Canadian rock band Rush were also inducted to the Hall of Fame by Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins. Rap group Public Enemy, Randy Newman, blues legend Albert King, producers Lou Adler and Quincy Jones, and rock group Heart were all also inducted. Read the rest of this entry »

On April 23, TIME will host a gala at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center in celebration of the TIME 100 — our annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

This is the tenth year that the TIME 100 gala has brought together leaders, visionaries, entertainers, moguls and philanthropists from across the world. This year’s 350 expected guests include Late Night host Jimmy Fallon, actor Daniel Day-Lewis, musician Frank Ocean, Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer and Lena Dunham, creator of the HBO hitGirls. Recording artists Christina Aguilera and Miguel are slated to perform for the assembled luminaries.

Joe Biden, Vice President of the United States, will give remarks. Past speakers include former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, whose 2009 appearance at the TIME 100 gala marked her first visit to New York as First Lady.

Biden received praise from Republican majority leader Eric Cantor in the new TIME 100 issue: ” Too often in Washington, opposing sides don’t speak to one another. The best way to find solutions and common ground is to build personal relationships based on trust. No one in Washington understands this better than Joe Biden.”

The first time I heard Christina Aguilera sing, I was totally blown away. I love the way she sings. Her tone is beautiful, and her voice has got so much power, yet so much sensitivity — and technically, I think, she’s flawless.

I remember she broke onto the scene at the turn of the millennium, just about the time my husband and I were going to take a hiatus to have our first child, so I got to watch a lot of her TV appearances, especially on the award shows.

I remember thinking, This girl’s got it all and then some! Unbelievable voice, great dancer and so very beautiful. At that time, I didn’t realize how versatile she was, but over the years she has proved that she can sing anything and make it sound incredible: pop, soul, R&B and even country.

Without a doubt, she’s one of the most talented artists the world has ever seen and heard, and I think she’s going to continue to amaze us for many, many years to come.

They told the news on the biggest talk show here in Mexico that is basically directed to Moms, The Soap Opera’s Producer said that it was difficult to get her on the project, but they’re happy to have her because they’re sure that she will do a great work because she’s known for being a great singer who conveys lots of emotions to everything she sings. He talked about the song and said that it starts all calm and it goes like that until reaching a climax and that is going to have different rythms.

Christina Aguilera had better check twice when she borrows a cup of sugar from her new neighbor … because she’s moving into Charlie Sheen’s hood.

We’ve learned Xtina just dropped a cool $10 mil for an 11,000-square-foot mega-mansion in Mulholland Estates, which is a stone’s throw from Bev Hills.

She’s actually significantly downsizing, having just sold her $13.5 million mansion previously owned by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

The new house is awesome … with 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, library, bar, screening room, salt water pool, spa, gazebo, bathhouse … the works.
