Christina is mentioned on the College View article for the Songs of the Summer 2009. Yay this means that Christina will be releasing her album during Summer.

Following the current trends, 2009 looks to be a great summer for music. Just a news round up, Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decaded of Hits is #1 in Shopline Brazil Sales Online, Thanks to JefferXon. As for Aguilera taken for movie role, MTV.com has yet posted an article regardig the news.

There are reports out there that Christina Aguilera is interested in starring in “Burlesque,” a film about a modern-day striptease dancer, sources tell E! Online.

Although the site doesn’t have further information about how far along Aguilera is in the process of securing the role, there is word that “Dancing With the Stars” favorite Julianne Hough has also met with producers about co-starring as a pregnant showgirl.

Steve Antin, whose sister is Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin, wrote the script and is reportedly going to direct the film as well. Screen Gems, the studio behind the project, has confirmed that the movie in development, but added that it’s “too preliminary to comment on.” The studio is aiming for a January 2010 production start date.

A rep for Aguilera had no comment about the casting news when reached by MTV News.

Playing a burlesque dancer on film wouldn’t be too difficult for Aguilera, who got saucy covering Labelle’s “Lady Marmalade” for the “Moulin Rogue” soundtrack. She followed that up with her stint as “Dirrty” Christina on her 2002 album, Stripped, posing topless for the cover. Then, in 2006, she embraced her inner pin-up for Back to Basics. This would be the first major film role for the singer.

While she’s kept quiet on the possibility of making her mark on the big screen, Aguilera has talked a bit about the follow-up to her recent best-of release, Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits. She told MTV News that said she wants the new album to have a more “futuristic” vibe: “It’s a challenge and an exciting new project for me to reinvent what I am doing yet again, and come up with something new and fresh.”

It sounds like Christina Aguilera could be getting ready for her big movie-screen close-up!

Here’s what we’re told is going down with our favorite “Dirrty” pop singer: Xtina is interested in possibly starring in Burlesque, a Screen Gems movie about a modern-day burlesque dancer, according to sources.

Though it’s still not clear how far along talks may be and if Aguilera has even read for the part, here are the current details…

Steve Antin not only wrote the original script, but he’ll reportedly direct the flick, too. Antin certainly knows about scantily-clad dancers—he’s worked on several projects with his sister, Pussycat Dolls impresario Robin Antin.

A source also tells my E! News pal Giuliana Rancic that Dancing With the Stars’ blond bombshell Julianne Hough is chatting with producers about costarring alongside Xtina as a pregnant showgirl.

The studio is said to be shooting for a January 2010 start date for Burlesque. A rep for the studio confirmed the movie is in development, but said it’s “too preliminary to comment on” casting.

That’s not the only Julianne movie scoop I have for you. She’s also up for a role in the Footloose remake, according to sources. Even though a rep for the movie denied Hough is in talks, let’s just picture it now—Julianne fancy-footworking with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford.

Hough recently told me that she definitely plans on pursuing acting work in the future. “But one step at time,” she said at the Academy of Country Music Awards. “I’m just focused on the music right now because that will always be my base.”

Reps for Aguilera and Hough did not comment.

Rhydian Roberts wants to duet with Christina Aguilera.

The X Factor 2007 runner-up reckons he could learn a lot from the American popstar, 28.

‘I love to collaborate on stage with people and I’d love to eventually work with a diva like Christina Aguilera,’ Rhydian tells Now Online.

‘I just think her voice is incredible.’

Rhydian, 25, has already had some practice working with music veterans – he sang with Katherine Jenkins, 28, on the 2007 X Factor final.

‘Katherine and I have done a few gigs since then,’ he says. ‘I’ve met and sung with quite a few Welsh singers already.’
