The Voice was adjusted up two tenths and Dancing with the Stars, Ben & Kate, and New Girl (both at 8 & 9) were adjusted up a single tenth among adults 18-49 versus the preliminary Tuesday broadcast ratings.

Channel 9 in Australia took a recent gamble, when they chose to air the American version of The Voice on Monday nights. However the plan to gain ratings appears to have backfired, because the first episode gained a national audience of 669,000 viewers.

Season 2 of The Voice US, as you know stars Christina Aguilera as one of the star coaches, alongside Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and has been aired in America in its entirety. So of course it might be a little difficult to gain fans down under, because all they have to do is look up the winner in between Foxy games of bingo, and Twitter updates.

It would appear that many Aussies have done just this, considering it came in at a disappointing 19th position on Monday night. In its 7pm time slot, it was beaten by the likes of Australian soap opera Home and Away which had 1.014 million tune in, and ABC News with 1,065,000 million viewers.

Airing imports at the same time as home grown popular entertainment, was always going to be a tricky gamble. One that was reportedly made by Nine boss David Gyngell, despite opposition.

Fingers crossed the shows gains a little more momentum over there. It would be nice for Australian fans to see Ms Aguilera do her thing, and mentor future stars. The show is airing in the same prime time slot for three weeks, before it is moved to Go! to make way for the Olympics.

So, if you are Australian and a Christina fan, make sure you tune into Channel 9 on Monday evenings.

According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, the actor interrupted Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine’s breakfast with Details Editor-in-ChiefDan Peres at Forty Four at the Royalton yesterday to tell him he’s a “die-hard fan” of the NBC show.

Levine stars as a judge with Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green.

Hanks — who had just finished breakfast with director-screenwriterBart Freundlich, Julianne Moore’s husband — reportedly admitted, “I sit home with my wife and watch the show.
