“I almost didn’t do The Voice,” he said, before describing a secretive meeting in Hollywood where he and the rest of the prospective cast first discovered who had been asked to do the show. “I’m the only country artist, so I’m the only coach on time because I’m worried I’ll be fired before we even get started. After about 15 minutes, this little guy (Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine) in a white T-shirt and all these tattoos comes in.” Shelton said he and his manager agreed that Levine looked “sexy.”
Some “Secret Service guys” arrive after another 15 or 20 minutes, he says, to check out the place before Christina Aguilera arrives. “Then, Christina’s boobs come through the door,” Shelton says, “and about two minutes later the rest of her body comes through.”
Another 20 minutes go by and “in comes this guy in a bright yellow Adidas suit (Cee Lo Green)… and my manager asks do I know any of his music, ” says Shelton, who then plays Forget You, the G-rated version of Green’s 2010 hit.
Q. You know The Voice is known as a singing competition, so what made you take the brave step in going in there with a rap act? A. Moses: I think it definitely was a brave and bold move by myself, but I think it’s time for hip-hop to be recognized in a lot of the competitions that’s out right now. There’s not much for hip-hop artists to showcase their talents and the show is technically called The Voice and I feel with every song and every artist it’s been on lyrics and it’s based on emotion and it’s been on connecting with the audience and I feel rapping is the same thing…it’s poetry and it’s certain cadence in a person’s tone and delivery and the way they speak and the way they protect themselves and that is the same as using your voice and singing and nowadays everything is built together and hip-hop is definitely a big part of music and me personally, I thought it was time to step and do something different and get to the forefront. I really want to represent hip-hop…I want to represent pushing the boundaries and envelope between all artists. It was a blessing I got picked by my amazing coach Christina and I’m truly honored and truly blessed and happy to be on her team.
Q. What was it about Christina that made you choose her over Cee Lo? A. Geoff: My decision came down basically to the one who I thought had more interest. I remember Cee Lo saying that he was looking for a powerful female singer. I wasn’t aware of who had gone on, but I knew that if I walked on the stage and I wasn’t exactly what he wanted than I wouldn’t have that opportunity. I was shocked that he did turn around, but I chose Christina simply because she turned around in the beginning and she was there until the end and that’s really what I based my decision on.
Q. And how excited are you to work with Christina, who her herself is known for having a beautiful, strong voice and huge vocal range much like yourself? A. Geoff: Very, very excited to work with Christina. I think that the journey is just beginning, so we’ll see what’s in store.
Who’s your biggest competition on The Voice this season? I don’t really look at my fellow coaches as competition because we’re all completely different. I’d love to trade places with Christina [Aguilera] to see what it feels like to sing as brilliantly as she does. Blake [Shelton] is down-to-earth, charming, witty, charismatic. I’ve grown very fond of him. And Adam [Levine] and I are friends, too. He’s just supercool.

Etta James was a force to be reckoned with. A true gift to music and a woman of great spirit and courage.
Her raw tone and the passion she put forth on a record spoke to me at a very young age and has continued to influence and inspire me throughout my career. She will NEVER be forgotten, her voice will forever live on and she will inspire talent for generations to come.
A fan (dance2nite)Â of Christina recently has the chance to ask Ladyton some question about Christina.
Following up on my thread from last weekend, last night I attended Ladytron’s concert & had backstage passes to meet them, they were lovely, open & kind to most of my questions I had regarding Christina, here’s what they had to say on different topics of interest :
*Kimono Girl/Fourth Unknown Song – they were obligated by Christina not to talk about these other 2 songs they recorded for the Bionic sessions, all they said were that the songs were too experimental according to her record label & were dumped in favor of more mainstream songs, the band were disappointed they did not make the cut as Christina wanted them too. They were also disappointed BOP & LD were just bonus tracks.Â
*I praised their work with Christina and they said “they enjoyed working with her, she is a nice person”, and I told them how much I loved BOP & LD, & they said “Christina wanted BOP as a single when she recorded it”, but sadly it never happened.
*They are not on the new album, they did submit demo’s but Christina said they did not suit the album’s sound she is going for this time, but did say she might work with them again in the future.
Christina Aguilera went to Hard Rock Hotel later on Thursday
So you’re one of the biggest pop star/divas in the world and it’s your son’s 4th birthday. How do you celebrate? Like millions before you, you head to Legoland, of course.
Anyway, that’s what R&B princess Christina Aguilera did Thursday, taking the same tiny-toy decorated paths in Carlsbad that so many other parents have before them. The difference is that when Christina does it, she wears a short-brim fedora and huge shades in an apparent attempt at being incognito, and brings along her boyfriend, Matt Rutler, and about 20 other people – including four friends of her son, Max.
Why Legoland? Maybe because Max was here last year with Mom and Matt on Valentine’s Day and couldn’t get those slow, tiny boats out of his head.
On Tuesday, Christina & Co. took Max and his crew to the Fun Town Police and Fire Academy, riding the pump-action fire truck, headed over to Miniland Las Vegas – you knew that was gonna happen – rode Treasure Falls and the Flight Squadron, and took a spin on the Volvo Driving School Track, among other things. Afterward, they made a stop at Fun Town Market for dinner, where Max opened his presents and finally got a look at his birthday cake before blowing out the (presumably) five candles.
A tough act to follow, right? Maybe not, Christina and Matt made their way down to the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego afterward, where a paparazzo snapped Christina in her little black dress by with her beau in the foyer. We’re still tracking down where the couple kept the night going.
According @JoJoWright official twitter, Christina Aguilera is set to attend NBC All Star Party. Read the below tweets for more details. Hope her appearance is official!
