Art market news: Christina Aguilera among the buyers at Dean Stockton’s Brick Lane show

Urban artist Dean Stockton (aka D*Face) enjoyed a near sell-out in the last show to be held at Stolen Spaces, the gallery which is now to be demolished, writes Colin Gleadell.

The urban artist Dean Stockton (aka D*Face) has enjoyed a near sell-out in the last show to be held at Stolen Spaces, the gallery he has run below his studio in Brick Lane, east London, for seven years, but which is now to be demolished. Prices for the works ranged from £40 for editioned prints to £60,000 for a unique painting (Reflection Eternal, pictured, went for £12,000). In all, D*Face pocketed just under £1 million, which will go towards his relocation to new, larger premises in Osborn Street at the other end of Brick Lane. Among the buyers were the singer Christina Aguilera and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
