Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has said that Mick Jagger was happy to endorse the band’s new single ‘Moves Like Jagger’.
Levine collaborated on the track with fellow The Voice judge Christina Aguilera, and recently released a teaser of the song’s upcoming music video.
“We were lucky enough to get Mick’s endorsement, as far as him giving us access to a bunch of different footage, that’s so cool,” Levine told MTV News this week.
“Not many people have seen [it], especially a newer generation of people that don’t know so much about how incredible he was.”
The band tasked Jonas Åkerlund to direct the video, after being impressed by his work on music videos for the likes of Lady GaGa, Britney Spears and David Guetta.
“It’s kind of a hodgepodge of many different ideas that we wanted to do, and Jonas Åkerlund is at the helm of this whole thing, and he’s so talented and we love working with him,” Levine continued. “This is going to be another great video, I think.”
As well as including archival footage of the Rolling Stones frontman, the video will also feature a Jagger lookalike.
‘Moves Like Jagger’ debuted in the Top 10 in the US last month, and will be released in the UK on August 15.
