Christina Aguilera has been invited to sing a do-over.

The Brooklyn Cyclones are offering the Staten Island native a chance to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” before one of the minor league baseball team’s home games this summer.

Aguilera botched one of the lines of the national anthem before the Super Bowl on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. The New York Mets’ Class A farm team extended the invitation Tuesday.

Cyclones general manager Steve Cohen said in a statement that “when a player makes a mistake, they usually don’t get a shot at redemption, but with a singer, that’s a different story.”

Do you think she’ll actually do it? I wish the Superbowl will invite her back one day. She sang the Anthem at the NBA finals or something twice last year.

  • rp

yah. so what if she messed up the lyrics….this is the FIRST time ive seen her do that.peopel r overreacting. And i know she’ll kill it next time!!! She dind’t get that much reheasal practice for the superbowl cause she was asked the last minute….THAT’S what happened. Upsets me when peopel say “who DOES’NT know their own anthem?” Ummmmm like A LOT OF PEOPLE! besides….xtina knew it…she said she just got caught up in the moment. Stuff happens so all the idiots out there need to quit acting like they’ve never heard a mistake in their lives!

Agreed with rp’s comment, it’s the first time I’ve heard her “mess up” in well over a decade, give her a break. She knows the anthem, she sang it brilliantly a couple times before, it’s just a little flaw. Also, know that there’s a crazy amount of pressure when millions of people are watching you for something as big as the Superbowl. She still sounded amazing. Anyway, it’s very nice of them to give her another shot, I know she can do it.

I think that she needs a cut, a change. She needs a new image, new hair, new make up. She needs to go to swim or play tennis, or whathever she wants to, and to stay with her child. She needs to love herself and no to matter what they say. People talk. Let them talk but look forward. We love you Christina, love yourself too, and do what you love to do and makes you happy.
