Christina Aguilera joins “The Voice”

There’s some good news for Christina Aguilera in was has been an otherwise grim eight months. EW.com reports she’s joined Mark Burnett’s singing competition show “The Voice” as a coach and judge. Aguilera joins Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and Cee Lo Green.

The last six months of 2010 and all of 2011 have seen Aguilera all over the news and little of it’s been good.

- Her last studio album, “Bionic,” has tanked and Entertainment Weekly called it one of the five worst albums of 2010.

- She split from husband Jordan Bratman in September 2010 and it became public knowledge a month later.

- “Burlesque,” Aguilera’s movie vehicle co-starring Cher, flopped at the box office and got negative reviews.

- At Super Bowl XLV in February 2011, Aguilera botched the words to the National Anthem.

- At the Grammys in February 2011, she stumbled and nearly fell on stage.

- On March 1, Aguilera and boyfriend Matthew Rutland were arrested, he for DUI and she for public intoxication.

Compared to some other celebrities out there, Aguilera’s exploits are downright tame. She wasn’t driving the car on March 1 – Rutler was – and no one’s accused her of, say, stealing a necklace.

“The Voice” premieres April 26.

Since when is a movie that was made on a 55 million dollar budget and earned nearly 90 million at the box called a flop? That’s nearly 35 million dollars of profit! …and I dunno about you guys but when I went to buy Burlesque on dvd yesterday (at Target) there were only a few copies left!

People really need to stop calling the movie a flop, cause it’s not. And hopefully this gig will calm her down.

i knowwright!!!! Who the heck was hired to write this stupid aritcle??? THEY should be arrested!!!! Burlesque was NOT a flop and Bionic was named BEST pop vocal of 2010 by Billboad! Whoever wrote this bullcrap is DELUSIONAL and it’s just another excuse peopel are trying to make to bash her!!! But i REALLY hope all this was a wake up call for Xtina…i don’t want her going down Lohan’s trail…it’s not there yet..but hopefully rehab will save xtina. And ughh! Screw the haters!

First of all everyone who didn’t go and see it in the theaters owns a copy right now!!! I keep seeing people saying that their stores were sold out and such the movie has almost 100 reviews on amazon giving it almost a 5 star rating, it topped other pop stars movies by killer numbers in less than a year compared to the years their movies have been out!! So flop my ass! This is the problem with the entertainment business they are so greedy that they suck all the joy out of things. Its not even fun anymore to listen to music, watch movies, or whatever because everything is a freakin competition. Its high school pettiness all over again and I left that behind awhile ago. Its top 10 on amazon and has been charting for 4 days, its doing well on itunes.. I mean like Misslapearl said since win is a 35$ profit a flop… Because I sure as hell haven’t made that much to think so!

I totally agree, Xtinafan1…it seems like the entertainment world has to be such a competition now and there are petty fights over the internet between fans – what ever happened to just enjoying music and entertainment??

I’m not a fan of Christina, but I wish her all the best. People make mistakes, but she’s a good person.

I’ll you this, becoming a judge on The Voice could be very beneficial for her. I’m from the Netherlands and this show originated here. It turned out to be a huge success last year and several countries bought the concept. If America can match the Dutch version people will get a lot more sympathy for Christina.

yeah and it’s sad how xtina can’t get sympathy now i mean….the superbowl was NO big deal (since when does xtina mess up? It’s RARE get over it already) the the arrest was mainly (just mainly not all the way) Matt’s faualt..he CHOSE to drive evn though he knew he drank beforehand…even though Xtina’as shouldn’t have let him…and yes..xtina is only humana but sh’es one fo the BEST fighters out there sometimes u wouldn’t even know she’s human cuase she’s been overcoming problems since she got abused as a child. Im not saying im not conerned about Xtina, HOWEVER, im always pumped after her hard times cuase she gets stronger after it…. that’s why Stripped era RULED! i hate when peopel always worry..esp. when it comes to xtina….. they should be excited she’s about to make a comeback….COME ONE GUYS! We should all know Xtina by now….hard times actually give her advanatages. and yes…i hope peopel give Xtina sympathy..but again..Xtina never really did anything THAT bad in the last few months…people overreact to EVERYTHING nowadays. Xtina may get sympathy, but it’s usually in an unfair way cause she really didn’t do anything! The arrest didn’t affect ANYONE but Xtina and Matt and the superbowl was no big deal. This music world better get it together!!!!
