“I am on my way to Hawaii, but I can’t wait for the movie to reach the theaters”. At the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, during our Vogue.it interview, Miss Christina Aguilera -it’s yesterday news of her break up with husband Jordan Bratman- announced the opening of Burlesque for Thanksgiving Day, together with the release of her new book Burlesque: The Motion Picture, the official companion to the upcoming motion picture, written by Aguilera, Cher e the director of the movie Steve Austin.

“Once I found the script for my first movie, given the fact that burlesque is straight up my alley, it all happened pretty fast, and we got all the other actors, starting with the great Cher. I was also told that the script was originally written by Diablo Cody, a writer that knows very well the subject matter -living in two worlds- since she too quit her day job and became a stripper”. In Burlesque, although there are many scene in which dancers deal with bump & grind, it is more of a musical Cinderella’s story, the one of Ali (Aguilera) who come to Hollywood from Iowa in search of fame & fortune in the world of Burlesque.“Since I sing and dance, I thought that was not gonna be a stretch for me, and actually, my experience with music numbers and stages performances was gonna be of help. I love burlesque, it’s more of recreating music and scenes based on satires and theatrical parodies, just like Cabaret, one of my favorite movies of all time. As far as sexy clothes, paillettes and costumes I am gonna be wearing in the movie, just leaf through the book, I guarantee you are gonna like it, together with behind-the-scenes photos, exclusive sketches of costume and set designs and photos of the movie and above all, suggestion and explanation of my personal make up artist Kristofer Buckle”.
