The singer-turned-actress and Burlesque costar Cam Gigandet admit that they pushed the boundaries in their sex scenes

Her upcoming musical Burlesque (which hits theaters Nov. 24) may be Christina Aguilera‘s first attempt at shining on the big screen, but the singer wasn’t about to let her lack of acting experience hold her back — especially when it came to the movie musical’s sex scenes.

In fact, Aguilera, 29, tells iVillage exclusively that she made a point to push the limits while filming love scenes with costar Cam Gigandet (see video above). “I don’t like boundaries,” she says. “I’m a rule breaker…We had a lot of fun breaking boundaries within the movie. We did a lot of stuff, and sometimes those moments are uncomfortable, but I think we worked it out.”

Though the newly single mom (who filed for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman in October) threw herself into filming, she says her priority is being with her 2-year-old son, Max. “I try to spend as much time with him as I can, given that my schedule is a lot these days with the opening of my first movie,” she says. “But I can’t wait for Max to actually go see it.”
