Whether Christina Aguilera’s acting debut in ‘Burlesque’ will go the route of Barbra Streisand in ‘Funny Girl’ or Mariah Carey in ‘Glitter’ remains to be seen. But, judging by this exclusive clip from the movie, at least we know that her singing voice will be put on full display.

In the film, the Grammy-winning superstar plays Ali, an aspiring singer who moves to Los Angeles with the hope of becoming a big star. She lands a job as a waitress at The Burlesque Lounge, owned and operated by Tess (Oscar winner Cher), and quickly takes center stage as the club’s top performer. But, as with many cases in show business, Ali learns that the road to fame isn’t always — wait for it — what a girl wants.
